Planning a wedding is no small feat. Between dealing with caterers, florists, reception venues, DJs, and more, the first dance can sometimes fall by the wayside. At District Dance Academy, we’ll help you and your partner feel prepared for your big day by providing you with personalized dance lessons and custom choreography for your first dance. Whether you have a specific first song in mind or are not sure where to start, our friendly instructors can help steer you in the right direction and get you moving at your very first class.
We recommend starting dance classes four to six months before your wedding day to allow you both to practice as much as needed, especially if both of you are new to dancing. Many of our instructors have been specifically trained to work with novices, so we are more than happy to work with people with two feet! Be patient during your sessions — they should be fun date nights for you and your future spouse, and not a burden! You’ll both have much more fun if you relax and go along for the ride.
At District Dance Academy, we teach a wide array of different dance styles, including ballroom dance, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, hustle, country dance, hip-hop, Latin dance, and Brazilian zouk. Our instructors are accommodating to each couple’s vision, so you can impress your guests and have the time of your life, no matter what your dancing style is. In addition to choreographing first dances, we can also help you plan crowd-pleasing group routines for bridesmaids, groomsmen, and other important attendees, or line dances that your whole party can enjoy.
